  7. I'm going to be the first to say this, but-I hate this ad. No, really. In
fact, I despise it. Sure, it sends out a good message, but it's also the
ultimate hypocrisy. The ad teaches us that "YOU are more beautiful than you
think!", but really in the end, Dove just wants to sell their beauty
    products.

  8. So, they won't be needing that Dove crap then....

  9. I'm gonna play Devil's advocate here. The artist probably drew the first
drawing (people describing themselves) accurately, according to
descriptions, etc. But for the second drawing (other people describing the
person they talked to)... he *could have* deliberately drawn them to be
more 'beautiful' on purpose. Think about it, he could not have possibly
asked the person everything about another person's features, like how high
the person's nose bridge was, the size of their eyes, the length of their
face, their lips (especially the cupid's bow & tip), etc. The artist most
likely had to improvise a little (since no one can remember that much about
another person), which meant that he *might have* deliberately drawn the
    second drawing prettier/slimmer/etc.

With that said, the meaning behind this video *is* inarguably good. We
could all do with a little more of confidence and self-love. So yeah, LOVE
YOURSELF, YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL, YOU'RE ALL FULL OF RAINBOWS AND SUNSHINE AND
    PIXIEDUST. Bye. :D

  10. My blog today was indirectly inspired by this amazing commercial and
campaign by #Dove #RealBeauty. It makes me cry every time I see it. Cheers
to those who use the media to strengthen and empower!

i realized this is horrible when u think of yourself and now i realize that
you should NEVER be self critic.

  12. Amazing advert from ‘Dove’ again not focusing on the product but
communicating deep connection and emotional understanding of their target
    audience

  20. I think it's horseshit that Dove is facing a lot of blowback from this
campaign. Probably the first time I ever became emotional during a
commercial. Pure, raw human emotion. Good for them!

  21. I hadn't seen the Sketches video. What a statement on how we see ourselves
    versus how others see us.

  22. Just women? Cool. I'm not saying the ad's bad, but that sort of problem's
    not limited to females.

  23. I don't like how Dove is manipulating its target audience by tapping into
their emotions. I don't believe they're being sincere at all. DOVE is owned
by Unilever which also makes the number one fairness cream in India and the
Middle East. It's all about marketing. They know how to drive sales and
that's where the money is at.

  24. I'm a lady and all, and I appreciate the whole message. But I really
would've liked to see some guys in this ad too.
