  4. i find this fascinating because i come from a culture that is so against
any sort of 'self-love' or 'ego', and yet i see how wise this is.

  6. Research shows that people who are self-compassionate lead healthier, more
productive lives than those who are self-critical. In this video,
SoulPancake set up a booth in the middle of a park and asked passerby to
write a love letter to themselves. What would you want to write to
    yourself?

  7. Maybe you have a lot of experiences in writing love letters to other
people, but what about a love letter to yourself?
Don’t forget who has been with you since you were born.

  12. Alison,
    I love you.
I know we don't talk much, because you never find the time, but you're a
really cool person. You are shy quiet and a good listener, but when I
really got to know you, you started to act like the crazy weird happy
person you really are. I know a lot of things are going on now, and you
feel like CRAP ( XD ) but just know it will get better. Ill always be there
for you :) and SEE I can make stupid funny little jokes like you do :P
You are still 12, you have your whole life ahead of you. Stop acting like
the life you never even got to live is already over. Stop glancing at the
past and start moving on to the future. When you walk away, Ali, don't you
*dare* look back. Know that if you keep doing that, you'll never move on.
Your heart is metaphorically decaying inside you. Now stop crying and *do
something about it!* I hope you take my advice, and become who deep down,
    you already are....

    Your
    Old Friend,

    Alison =)

  14. The woman that said, "Why did I agree to this?" I think had the most to
say. I thought she said that comment as a way to say, "I don't know what
the hell to write!" but was pleasantly surprised when she knew exactly what
she was going to say, but had had a hard time just figuring out how to say
it. Hers was beautiful. "I think we should make a date, to at least once a
week have a cup of tea together." Beautiful. :)

  16. *Write Yourself a Love Letter*

This short video suggests writing a love letter to yourself. I haven't
actually done it -- but will. The exercise offers a fascinating approach to
introspection. It would help you discover what you value most about
yourself and what you need to forgive yourself for. That can't help but be
a wonderful way to make 2014 your best year ever!

  17. Dear Milo,
I'm not always the best to you, physically or emotionally, and I'm sorry
about that. I'm trying my hardest. There's a lot of things I like about
you, though. I like your compassion for those who need it most. I love your
sense of humor and your creativity. I love how passionate you are about
your hobbies and how you enjoy learning so much. I love how you're learning
to make friends, especially since that's always been difficult for you. I
adore your emotional range and your pretty hands and your poofy, ridiculous
hair. I think your laugh is one of the best sounds in the world. Thanks for
being a work-in-progress, sweetie. You're the only one I've got.
    Love, Milo

I have the vague feeling I've written a love letter for myself like ten
years ago, when I was finishing my teen years. I don't quite remember, but
I feel like I have. I should do it again. I love writing letters to others
and getting them as well, so why not write one for myself? I will :) Thank
you for a lovely idea that was so well portraited in this video! Lots of
    love from Paraguay
