  2. Mike, that's too bad you think this is ugly. Know what I think is ugly?
Flat, smooth walls with dings in them because little johnny threw a toy too
hard. Enjoy your scuffed up, "damaged" walls, mine look uniform with a
    texture. Dumbass.

  3. finally a vid that has a camera close enough to see what is being done.

  4. That all-in-one "tex" spray gun is very weak, and takes forever to spray
any amount of material ... I tried one! Can only recommend for the smallest
of jobs (ie, a single wall.)

  5. That texture looked awful!

  7. lol us drywallers take all this time and caution to get the walls looking a
certain way but people will NEVER notice it for many many years, some may
never know how much time and caution it takes :/ unless the homeowner is a
    drywaller :x

  8. This video forgets to mention that the only place on earth where this tacky
and tasteless wall texture should be applied is in the state of Florida.

  9. Here in the NW, I am asked to do small patch repairs on walls with this
ugly junk. What a pain. Mostly in overpriced track homes made in a hurry
with drywallers in and out in just a few days. When I see these walls, I
    think 'cheap'

  10. Still, nothing beats a nice and smooth wall finish that few are willing to
do or pay for these days

  11. Try using WAY less water when mixing your Mud. :)

  12. We use it in Nevada too.

  13. Orange Peel is used a lot in Southern California. Knock-down isn't. Some
builders are varying what they put on the walls now, but OP remains the
    primary from what I've seen.

  14. I'm from California and I've asked a few painters about texturing in South
Carolina. They never call me back...too much work i guess? I've done this
before in my shed and now I'm ready to take on a home job. It always sucks
when someone makes utube comments that slam video's based on their own
personal taste and preference. Thanks for the info very helpful for people
    that like textured walls.

  15. This is not very common in the northeast, but we get requests for it every
    once in a while.

  16. The Tex sprayer is meant for SMALL jobs, if you are going to be doing large
areas then you would need a texture gun and a compressor.

  17. Are these guys really drywallers? that texture was uneven and inconsistant.
Try side to side motion and not what the video shows, it's like painting,
    but with a texture.

  18. My primary reason for texture is to hide flaws in our 60 year old home
that's had crappy paint jobs done who knows how many times. Texture....yeah
    baby!!

  19. I'm only watching this because I want to see what the thumb butts do and
    how to fix it.

  20. Why only in Florida? In my opinion, is an excellent good solution for
exterior walls, that often are full of problems...

  21. From California but live in the Mid-west. I LOVE the look of OP knock down
texture. Reminds me of home. Will be putting this in my basement remodeling
folder! Trying to lessen the work for my poor hubby. Plain drywall requires
WAY to much sanding, dust, time! Ugh! OP all the way. With nice color of
    paint, BEAUTIFUL!

  22. You skipped the step where after you knock down you need to sand it down.
It only takes a few minutes. better finish and not so crummy looking. Knock
    down covers lots of imperfections.

  23. A very informative video & the orange peel is a beautiful randomly styled
design for interior walls but noticing by your comments here the finish
does not suit the taste for everyone. This will always be the case for
ceiling & wall finishes some like it one way whilst others like it another
way all the same, thank you for sharing your video. Regards Dale
